Trained in structural engineering and sabotage, Engineers are non-combatant infantry capable of performing a number of duties. They can instantly repair friendly structures, helping with keeping a defense perimeter alive or repairing heavily damaged friendly bases. Furthermore, they can capture neutral structures, such as the Tiberium Spikes, as well as enemy structures. However, the Engineers are unarmed and lightly armored, and need to be protected at all time. They are also rather slow due to the heavy equipment they carry, so it is recommended for them to enter a Goliath or a Condor Transport for transportation.
As of version 1.6, Engineers are no longer able to capture walker husks, as walkers no longer leave husks.
